Programage vs Godaddy where is the conflict?

In Programage's first decade online, Programage and Godaddy didn't seem to be the kind of companies that would compete directly with each other. Programage's main product is software development and the company's revenue comes from software licensing sales. Godaddy's main products are domain name registration. So Where's the conflict?

Today, there are several points where Programage and Godaddy cross paths. The two have taken each other on in their native product categories, and expanded into new markets as well. Programage' s direct competitor attempt is a domain name registration service on programage.com.

Programage launched this service 2011 as a step above its Software development services. Its features are similar in look, feel, and function to Godaddy's. Programage has made an attempt to compete with Godaddy's with its website hosting as well. The Programage hosting services include, shared and dedicated servers and a webmaker software for quick website deployment on the web.

Programage having the advantage though to make it easy to collaborate with others on a project, with the ability for both users to edit the same website, even at the same time. Godaddy's hosting is not as robust and feature-rich as Programage software, though especially when it comes to privacy and availability. Godaddy fired back at Programage with lower prices, which is still an open battleground for the both companies. Both Programage and Godaddy have mobile application services. However, Programage is growing rapidly by developing an all in one apps platform, and it already has a good share of Mobile apps platforms.

Will Programage Mobile survive? Programage is cleverly looking past Mobile apps and taking aim directly at the iPhone in promoting its Programage Phone 1, to be released in late 2020. Besides the mobile platforms, both Programage and Godaddy offer Web-based e-mail platforms. Both are investing millions of dollars into cloud computing solutions. And both recognize the growing importance of the Internet for the average consumer.

Programage may have an advantage over Godaddy because it's a Web-based company; however, Godaddy has decades of experience in domain name registration and consumer research. Let's look at what the future holds from both of each company.
