On June 1, 2020, members of the private Bachelor-themed Facebook group, Brett's Bachelor Buds, started organizing. It had been a week since George Floyd was killed by police, emotions were running high, and people across the country were experiencing a heightened awareness of racial inequality. 

The Facebook group, which formed in March 2020, was meant to act as a fun, positive space for 7,200 fans and counting to connect over their shared love of all things Bachelor, the reality show that's been running for 18 years and has inspired other popular series including The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise.
