Save $70: Refurbished Roomba e5 vacuums are on sale for $179.99 at Amazon as of July 20. That's nearly 30% off the regular renewed price and over $100 off the brand-new MSRP.
The midrange Roomba e5 can sometimes get lost in the shuffle of the rest of the Roomba family. Many shoppers are looking for extremes: like the $1,000+ beast of a vacuum that'll empty itself or the cheapest vacuum possible with Roomba still slapped across the top.
The e5 gets a little more tantalizing when its refurbished sale price is almost $100 less than the going price for the lower-tier 600 model. $179.99 at Amazon gets you five times the suction of the $274.99 Roomba 694, plus tangle-free brushes that are a must in homes with lots of pet (or human) hair.
Both the e5 and 694 connect to the Roomba app to take full advantage of the rejuvenated iRobot Genius experience. The ability to start a cleaning from your phone (or through voice commands with the e5) is hardly the max of convenience. Here, you can set cleaning schedules based around when you're home or after extra-messy times of the day, like after dinner.
The e5 may even make a scheduling suggestion as it keeps tabs on your habits and detects dirt in certain places on a regular basis. During pollen or pet shedding season, the e5 may offer to take an extra run around the house to capture any lingering pollen or dander in its high-efficiency filter.
