Sony regularly hosts State of Play online events to show off the latest gameplay trailers for PlayStation 5 and PS4.
However, the PlayStation Showcase stream it's recently announced promises something a bit more - it teases that we'll get a "sneak peek at the future of PS5".
Here is how and when you can watch it online.
When is the PlayStation Showcase event?
The PlayStation Showcase will start at 1pm PDT Thursday 9 September 2021. Here are the times for your region:
- US West Coast: 1pm PDT
- US East Coast: 4pm EDT
- UK: 9pm BST
- Central Europe: 10pm CEST
- Japan: 6am JST (9 July)

How to watch the PlayStation Showcase video stream

What to expect
The PlayStation Blog revealed that the showcase event will run for approximately 40-minutes and be dedicated to the future of the PS5.
"You've been awfully patient, and we thank you for that. And now we're looking forward to showing you what we've been working on," wrote Sony Interactive Entertainment's senior director of content communications, Sid Shuman.
It will include updates on the titles being worked on in-house, at PlayStation Studios, and other "imaginative developers". Games featured will be coming up this holiday season and beyond.
There won't be any new info on the PSVR 2, sadly. Not this time, at least.
