The Lenovo Yoga range is the laptop community's convertible stalwart, as the product line to introduce the convertible 2-in-1 hinge a full decade ago.
The 2022 refresh of the Yoga 9i sticks with the top-end formula but adds a row of 1-Click Function Keys to the right-hand edge of the keyboard. This enables quick toggling of performance boost, your entertainment profile, background blur effect, dark mode, along with a fingerprint scanner beneath those four keys.
Enough of a reason to upgrade your laptop? Perhaps not. But the 9i has a whole lot of top-end features that are worth getting excited about. The 360-degree hinge is its primary appeal, which also houses a soundbar that's user-facing whichever format - tent, stand, tablet or traditional mode - the laptop is positioned in.
The 2022 refresh also debuts an all-new design, with fully rounded edges to ensure hand and wrist comfort and none of those sharp edges that you'll find on some laptop competitors. The trackpad is also some 45 per cent larger than its predecessor.
The display, which is a 14-inch AMOLED panel, houses a 4K resolution across its 16:10 aspect ratio and is touch-enabled too.
A step below the 9i is the Yoga 7i model, available in 14-inch and 16-inch variants, which houses up to a 2.8K OLED panel and shares a similar rounded-edge design as per its top-end bigger brother.
The Lenovo Yoga 9i convertible laptop will be available from Q2 2022, priced from $1,399.00. The Yoga 7i, meanwhile, will be available from $899.
