Fitbit was one of the first fitness trackers widely available for consumers. It took off in popularity, so much so that the name Fitbit became interchangeable with the term fitness tracker for many. Although plenty of competition has entered the fitness tracker market, Fitbit remains popular thanks to its capable devices. That's partly thanks to Google purchasing the company in 2019, which provided even more resources to the Fitbit brand.
